Vic Zimmermann began his legal career as a litigation associate with the international law firm of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost (“Curtis”) in New York City. He then served as a staff attorney with the Division of Enforcement of the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., working on investigations involving insider trading, market manipulation and fraud in connection with tender offers.

After leaving the SEC, Vic co-founded a law firm in Stamford, Connecticut and subsequently the Stamford office of Curtis where he returned as a partner and co-chair of the venture capital and high technology practice and later co-chair of the investment funds group. Vic was a partner at Curtis for almost 20 years, based initially in Stamford and subsequently at the firm’s headquarters in New York City.

After leaving Curtis in 2018, Vic became the chief legal officer of a fintech company in Greenwich, Connecticut, Symbridge Holdings LLC, formed to use blockchain native technology to trade physical commodities and securities products in digital form. While chief legal officer at Symbridge from 2019-2023, Vic helped develop a global financial services licensing and product strategy, company asset vetting policy, internal audit and corporate compliance programs, corporate governance structure and the company legal department and managed seed, convertible note and Series A financing rounds with approximately $50 million of invested capital.

Vic is an Adjunct Professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law where he teaches blockchain and digital assets law and regulation. Vic holds Series 7, 63 and SEI securities qualifications and has published and spoken extensively on issues relating to financial services.

Vic has served as a board member of a number of non-profit organizations in the NY-CT metro area including the Bronx Charter School for Better Learning, the Perrot Library in Old Greenwich, the Greenwich Arts Council and currently serves on the board of the Greenwich Center for Hope and Renewal.
